Euro Fruits Procurement Protocol

Euro Fruits is committed to conduct the entire procurement and packing operation of table grapes in a highly controlled manner.

At the stage of fruit pruning in October 2004, Euro Fruits registered farmers with commitment to follow Euro Fruits stated norms and cultural practices. The selection of the farms is done based on the previous history in growing export quality grapes and the farmers willingness to follow the new ground rules formed by Euro Fruits with respect to registration, documentation, farm upkeep, calibration, non-user of banned chemicals, PHI adherence etc.

Farmers are educated and encouraged to implement EurepGap standards. The company conducted a series of workshops to explain the new concept and the compliance requirements of the revised standards. The new version standard clauses have been explained in local language for wider publicity and acceptance by the farmers.

The farmers who committed to the EurepGap implementation are given all possible documentation and implementation assistance with weekly compliance monitoring by the dedicated Euro Fruits EurepGap team. As against 39 registered/ certified farmers in April 2004, about 140 farmers have freshly registered with Euro Fruits for standards implementation in the current season.

The Euro Fruits EurepGap team is trained at the National Research Centre for Grapes, a unit of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, on the technical aspects of grape vine disease identification, monitoring, IPM practices, calibration, documentation etc.

Euro Fruits is associated with Crop Life India and pesticides manufacturers in promoting the safe and judicious use of crop protection products amongst its suppliers.

All the above actions and operations have been extensively documented by Euro Fruits for Due Diligence. Euro Fruits is in a position to provide full back documentation regarding location, harvest date, applications of pesticides, and residue test results for each and every box of table grapes exported to Europe for Season 2005.

Euro Fruits is fully committed to the strictest possible compliance with importing nation MRL regime backed by 100% traceability.
